Louise Coelho
À la recherche
My name is Tai, and I am the proud mother of Louise, my vibrant, spirited 6-year-old who lights up every room she enters. Louise has a heart as big as her smile—she always makes her friends feel seen and understood, connecting with them in a way that makes everyone feel valued. She loves playdates with her friends, exploring museums, and chasing adventures, filling every moment with curiosity and laughter.
But everything changed when she was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia. Her bone marrow can no longer produce the blood cells her body needs to survive. Our days now revolve around hospital visits for blood and platelet transfusions—temporary measures to keep her going.
Louise’s immune system is so fragile that she can’t play outside, blow bubbles, or spend time with her friends. Even a small bruise or germ could be dangerous. Our world is sanitized daily, and we keep our distance from others to protect her—a life so different from the adventures she once loved.
Through it all, Louise remains a champion. Her courage shines through even the hardest days, and her smile brightens the lives of everyone around her. As her mother, I dream of seeing Louise live a full, carefree life again—laughing with friends, exploring the world with wonder, and enjoying the childhood she so deserves. A life where she can dream big, run without limits, and simply be a kid.
The doctors say a bone marrow transplant remains Louise's best chance at survival. But finding a match is incredibly difficult because of her Brazilian heritage. Ethnic diversity in donor registries is critically underrepresented, and we need your help to change that.
A simple cheek swab could be the miracle Louise needs to live fully again. By joining the registry or sharing her story, you could help save her life.
Thank you for keeping Louise in your thoughts and for being part of our hope.
With all my heart,
Tai
