Meet Misha & Zoey, two rambunctious twin girls who need your help!
At 7 months old, Misha and Zoey were diagnosed with a rare genetic condition that makes them susceptible to severe infections from common everyday bacteria and fungi. Chronic Granulomatous Disease (CGD) prevents them from being able to do normal toddler activities such as going to their neighborhood park, playing in leaves, and visiting the petting zoo.
Undergoing a Bone Marrow Transplant is the only cure. Unfortunately, it’s been a challenge to find a suitable
donor. Misha and Zoey are currently taking antibiotics and antifungal medications, however, these are not effective and the risk of infections remains high. If left untreated, CGD patients develop other health complications like granulomas throughout the body (e.g. liver, heart, lungs) and inflammatory bowel disease.
