Swab Ambassadors play a major role in our mission to teach people about stem cell donation, help patients find life-saving matches and recruit more diverse donors. All it takes is a few hours of your time each month, but it can make a huge difference.
Swab Talks Committee
Swab Talks are how we get the word out about stem cell donation and, hopefully, recruit more diverse donors. Many people haven’t joined the donor registry simply because they don’t know about it. These lively conferences, either held in person or online, are an opportunity for our ambassadors to explain the process, answer any questions and get young people pumped about saving lives.
If you like to do community outreach and organize events, or if you’re looking for a way to practise your public speaking skills, this is the committee for you.
Communications Committee
This team is all about content creation. TikTok videos, memes, Instagram takeovers — you name it, we’re here for it. Most stem cell donor registries only accept people under the age of 35, so we need to share our message where the young folks are.
Do you want to harness your meme game to support a life-saving cause? Or maybe you’re interested in how to turn complex topics like stem cell donation and ethnic inequality into engaging, bite-size content? If so, you’ll feel right at home among this group of creatives.
Fundraising Committee
It takes a lot of resources to help patients find donors and run awareness campaigns. Ambassadors on the fundraising committee are the ones who ensure we can have the biggest impact possible. And whether you decide to host a bake sale or launch a TikTok dance challenge, any fundraising event is a great opportunity to get people talking about stem cell donation. Cupcakes and saving lives: a winning combination! If you like to get out in the community and make stuff happen, we want you on our team.
