Why does it matter?

Every year, thousands of patients with blood cancers and other serious conditions need a stem cell transplant. 
In many cases, there’s no match within the family, so patients must rely on a donor registry.

Here’s the challenge: matching is closely tied to genetic background. 
When registries lack ethnic diversity, some communities are underrepresented. Thus, patients from those groups have lower chances of finding a donor in time.

Swab The World is taking action to change that.
By raising awareness, mobilizing communities, and recruiting donors from all backgrounds, Swab The World strengthens registries and improves the chances of a match for everyone.

Manoeuvre × Swab The World

Our connection to Swab The World goes back more than a decade, to a time when Mai (now the foundation’s co-founder) was searching for a donor. Khoi was deeply moved by her story and got swabbed himself to see whether he might be a match.

He wasn’t. But it was the start of something. Today, Manoeuvre continues to support Swab The World on a volunteer basis, helping organize events and mobilizing our network in support of their mission.
