Their Story

My Story

I was diagnosed with sickle cell at birth. At first my pain use to be manageable but last year things took a turn for the worse. I started having pain crises frequently and required hospitalization to get the pain under control. The pain has caused me to miss school and not be able to do things a normal kid my age does. I really loved playing the trumpet in band but unfortunately I wasn’t able to match in the band for football season because I was in so much pain. I’m hoping to find a donor so I can do the things I love and just be a normal kid.
