Jakob's Story

Jakob is a fighter, and he needs our help! Jakob has a rare genetic disorder called SCID (Severe Combined Immune Deficiency) that prevents his body from fighting infections. According to his doctors, Jakob has six months to one year to find a lifesaving stem cell donor.

Jakob is half-Polish and half-Hispanic, but only 3.5% of stem cell donors in Canada are multi-ethnic. This lack of diversity makes it extremely challenging for Jakob to find his lifesaving donor. Jakob urgently needs people with the same ethnicity as him to sign up to become stem cell donors and save his life!
